• Hosting means the Healthy Forest Alliance (HFA) brings an NWCG-certified course directly to your facility or training site.
• We provide the instructors, course materials, and equipment, while you provide the classroom or field site space for delivery.

HFA offers a wide range of NWCG-certified courses, including S-130 Firefighter Training, S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior, S-131 Advanced Firefighter, S-212 Wildland Fire Chainsaws, and many others. Course availability depends on instructor scheduling and demand.

NWCG-Recognized Training & Credentials – Participants receive nationally recognized certificates, eligibility for Task Books, and Incident Qualification Cards (Red Cards).

• Turnkey Support – HFA provides certified instructors, course administration, and logistical guidance.
• Discounted Rates & Free Spots – Host organizations may qualify for reduced per-student fees, and in some cases, free seats for staff or volunteers participating in the course.

Hosts are generally responsible for providing:

• Classroom space with seating and AV equipment (projector/TV).
• Access to nearby outdoor training areas for field exercises.
• Coordination with local staff or volunteers to support logistics (parking, restrooms, etc.).

HFA handles the rest: instruction, course materials, registration, and certification.

Most NWCG courses require a minimum of 12 participants and allow up to 25 students, depending on course type and instructor availability.

Yes. Hosting organizations may cover instructor travel/lodging or a per-student fee. However, hosting locally often reduces travel expenses for participants and allows group training at a lower overall cost.

Yes. Courses are delivered under our NWCG MOU with the National Wildfire Suppression Association (NWSA). Students receive official certificates upon successful completion, and eligible members can request Task Books through HFA’s Training Division.
