PRESCRIBED FIRE BURN CREW
Are you passionate about environmental conservation and ready to embark on an exhilarating journey as part of a dynamic on-call prescribed fire crew? We are seeking dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic about preserving ecosystems through the use of fire. This is a unique opportunity to join a team committed to mitigating wildfire risks and promoting the health of natural landscapes.
Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to on-call notifications for prescribed burns and training activities.
Execute prescribed burns according to established plans and safety protocols.
Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and coordinated efforts during firing operations.
Maintain and operate firefighting equipment, including drip torches, hand tools, and specialized vehicles.
Participate in pre-burn briefings, debriefings, and ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to minimize risks during fire-related activities.
Assist with post-burn monitoring and evaluation of ecological impacts.
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older.
Physical fitness and stamina to perform strenuous outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to undergo and maintain required training and certifications.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Previous experience in firefighting, forestry, or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
