Request for Qualifications (RFQ): NWCG Adjunct Instructor (Independent Contractor) Healthy Forest Alliance Healthy Forest Alliance is seeking qualified Independent Contractors to serve as NWCG Adjunct Instructors for upcoming wildland firefighting and fire management training programs. The selected instructors will assist in the delivery of NWCG-certified training courses, providing both classroom and field-based instruction to ensure participants gain the skills and knowledge needed for effective wildfire management and operations. Scope of Work: Assist Lead and Unit Instructors in delivering NWCG-certified courses (e.g., S-130/S-190, L-280, or others). Facilitate instruction of assigned modules and support practical exercises and hands-on training. Ensure all training materials and instruction comply with NWCG standards and guidelines. Provide feedback and mentorship to participants during training sessions. Collaborate with the training team to support the planning, execution, and evaluation of courses. Maintain professionalism and adhere to all safety protocols during training activities. Qualifications: Interested candidates must provide the following to be considered for selection: Subject matter expert on course-related materials, or demonstrated course-related technical expertise, or published subject-related articles or papers in the last five years. Extensive experience in wildland fire management, suppression, or related fields. Familiarity with NWCG training standards, fire behavior, operational tactics, and safety protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support diverse groups of participants. Ability to work collaboratively with Lead Instructors and other team members. Current Red Card (preferred). Willingness to travel to training locations as needed.
