Request for Qualifications (RFQ): Defensible Space Contractors

Healthy Forest Alliance is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to identify qualified contractors for upcoming Defensible Space projects. These projects will focus on wildfire risk reduction and vegetation management, including the creation and maintenance of defensible space around homes, structures, and infrastructure to meet local and state wildfire mitigation standards.

Scope of Work:

Establish and maintain defensible space around properties in compliance with local, state, and federal wildfire mitigation standards.
Implement vegetation management strategies, including thinning, pruning, and removal of hazardous fuels.
Proper disposal of vegetation and materials in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
Collaborate with property owners, project managers, and local fire departments to ensure project goals are met.
Qualifications:
Interested contractors must provide the following information to be considered for selection:

A brief company profile, including the years of experience in defensible space and wildfire mitigation projects.
Proof of relevant licenses (e.g., landscape contractor license, arborist certification) and certifications required by state and local authorities.
Proof of insurance (liability and workers' compensation).
Description of equipment available for defensible space projects.
Detailed safety policies and procedures followed during fieldwork.
At least three professional references from similar projects completed within the past five years.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations for wildfire mitigation.
