S-244/S-245 Field Observer, Fire Effect Monitor, Display Processor

S-244:  This course provides the student with the skills necessary to perform as a field observer (FOBS) and/or a fire effects monitor (FEMO). Topics include roles & responsibilities of the FOBS & FEMO; how to make observations & document those observations; how to produce hand drawn & GPS field maps; & how to navigate using a compass & GPS. The navigation unit has 4 ½ hours of field exercises and the final field exercise is 8 hours.  Course Description & Required Materials 

S-245:  This course provides students with the skills necessary to perform as a Display Processor (DPRO). Topics include general roles & responsibilities & how to assist the situation unit leader with producing incident maps, inputs for the Incident Status Summary (ICS-209) & other incident products. The final exam is 3 hours.  Course Description & Required Materials

 

NOTE:  STATE FIRE TRAINING CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION FOR ARE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS ATTENDING THIS COURSE.  TUITION INCLUDES THE $150.00 STATE FIRE TRINING CERTIFICATE FEE CHARGED BY CAL FIRE / STATE FIRE TRAINING
