To request the Initiation of a Position Task Book,  you will need to follow these general steps:

1. Visit Our Training Division Website: Visit our PRESCRIBED FIRE PRACTITIONER EXPERIENCE website for the current training and experience requirements for the position you would like to initiate a task book for.

2. Complete Required Training: Ensure you have completed the necessary training courses and have the required qualifications for the position you are seeking.  NWCG STANDARDS FOR WILDLAND FIRE POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

3. Provide Proof of Training: Upload copies of your training certificates, task books and other required documentation to your "My Documents" folder in the members' area of the website. Include certificates for courses such as Basic Firefighter Training (FFT2), Introduction to Fire Behavior (S-190), and the Work Capacity Test (Pack Test).  NWCG STANDARDS FOR WILDLAND FIRE POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

4. Wait for Processing:  The processing time for Task Books applications can vary depending on whether you have uploaded all required training documentation. Task Books will be emailed over as soon as verification is completed. Contact the HELP DESK from the members area if you have not received a response within a reasonable timeframe.

5. Receive Your Task Book: Once your application is approved, you will receive your Initiated Task Book.
